A visitor's guide to the Friendly Midway, Columbia, SC, an area Where Friendliness Flows

Olympia

"Nestled between downtown Columbia and the Congaree River, the historic mill village Olympia showcases homes and buildings dating back to the late 1800s.  The Olympia Cotton Mill, one of the most architecturally outstanding buildings of the early twentieth century, is considered to be a landmark throughout the Midlands.  Olympia Park, which has been designated part of the Three Rivers Greenway, offers a natural setting in urban Columbia.  Five of the original mill village churches still stand, as does the recently revitalized Olympia School, which was founded in 1901.  Olympia is a glimpse into Columbia's past, present, and future."
