The Governor's Mansion
Located at 800 Richland Street in midtown Columbia, the Governor's Mansion was built in 1855 as a residence for the officers of the Arsenal Military Academy. The mansion has served as home of the governor since 1868. Also located on the grounds are the Lace House, circa 1854, and the Caldwell-Boylston House, circa 1830. The home is furnished with antiques dating back to 1868. A gift shop on the grounds in the Boylston House is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, phone 803-737-1710.
