The Capstone House and Top of Carolina Restaurant

This 18-story University of South Carolina residence hall
is topped by a rotating restaurant, the only revolving restaurant in the
Carolinas, and the only one on any university campus in the
world.
The rotating platform and mechanism were acquired from an exhibit at the New York World's Fair and were gifts of a South Carolina manufacturer, Robert G. Wilson. The Capstone House is located at 902 Barnwell
Street (on the corner of College Street) on the university campus, and is open for public dining on
Sundays. Sunday Brunch is served from 10:30 to 1:30 and features an
all-you-can-eat buffet with carved meat, Belgian waffles, omelets, fruit,
salad, dessert and beverages. For reservations, call 803-777-7919, or
803-777-0848 after hours and weekends. Cost is $16.95 for adults, $8.45 for
children 6 to 12, and free for children under 6. |
